Community Guidelines

Smut Club is an inclusive space for people of all sexual orientations and gender identifications to immerse themselves in the thriving ecosystem of smut. To help us enable this in a respectful and enjoyable way for everyone, smut club organisers, members, and their guests are expected to uphold the following values and behaviours.

Be Respectful

This means respecting someone’s preferences, whether that’s their choice to join smut club anonymously or their choice in smut (no yucking someone’s yum!)

Be Inclusive

This means we will not allow any fetishization of sexuality, race or other protected characteristics and ensure that our book recommendations include all types of relationships, not just heteronormative ones!

Be Empowered!

This means we encourage you to speak openly and freely about smut & we will always welcome feedback!

 

As a society we will commit to:

• Ensuring all book recommendations come with content warnings, overview of tropes and spice levels 

• Ensuring all book recommendations have characters who are able to and do freely consent

• Running an opt-in approach to photos and public content - people will only know you’re in smut club if you want them to!

If we feel anyone is not acting in line with the code of conduct we will ask them to leave the meeting or, if a recurring issue, the society.
